Paphos is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Cyprus, and the great thing about visiting Paphos is that you don’t need a lot of money to experience all it has to offer. Well, the flight might set you back if you don’t book in advance, but you don’t need to fork out much dough once you arrive. Here are a few suggestions for a budget-friendly Paphos vacation.

Take a Free Guided Walk

Forget about hiring cars or riding the bus to explore Paphos. The Cyprus Tourism Organization will take you on a free guided walking tour through the city on select mornings. This is a great way to get to know the city on your first day.

Hit the Beach

Like many other coastal cities on the Mediterranean, Paphos boasts many wonderful beaches. One of the most popular beaches is Perta tou Romiou which is also known as Aphrodite’s Rock. According to Greek mythology, this is where Aphrodite came ashore. If you circle the rock three times, rumor has it that you will be given the gift of eternal beauty. However, doing this isn’t recommended as the water is quite turbulent out there. Other suggestions include  Blue Lagoon, Lara Bay, Coral Bay, Vardas Beach or Vrisoudia Beach.

In case you are tired of simple beach activities, you can always get in the shade to read a book, or to claim your bonus at BSTcasinos to play a few casino games, or watch a movie.

Check Out Local Sports

You can watch plenty of local sports on the cheap. If you happen to visit between August and May, you can see Pafos FC play at Stelios Kyriakides Stadium for €12 or less. There are also several venues that offer a variety of other sports, and those games are even cheaper if not free.

Local Cuisine

You may be surprised by how inexpensive it can be to quench your hunger in Paphos. Especially if you try local foods like souvlaki and sheftalia. Even the seafood is reasonably priced provided you don’t opt for the lobster or red mullet. You can dive into a delicious platter of squid, whitebait, and more for around €10. You can top that off with some pastries like tahini pie, cheese pie, or olive pie.

These budget-friendly activities are just the tip of the iceberg. We haven’t even mentioned the many historical sites and Greek mythology-related adventures you can have. There are simply too many places to see and things to do to cover them all here. All you need to know is that you don’t need a big budget to thoroughly enjoy your trip to Paphos.
